The Jar Project highlighted the creative contributions of sixty artists with connections to Maine, fusing their individual creations together in an installation that was in equal parts evocative, nostalgic and strange.The installation consisted of sixty art-filled jars. The jars varied in size, color and texture, and contained a range of genres and mediums including drawings, paintings, photographs, sculptures, and mixed media.
A special night featuring food in jars from Wolf Pine Farm, Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) was part of the exhibit.
In addition an afternoon and evening performance of Seven Jarring Dances for Clarinet and Steel-String Guitar which was composed by Daniel Sonenberg for the exhibit and preformed by Maria Wagner on Clarinets and Daniel Sonenberg on guitar. Listen below.
